Who to contact if you are homeless
About Us
Consultative Forum
The Forum provides a consultative support and advisory role to the Board of the Homeless Agency. It monitors the implementation of A key to the door 2007-2010, from a service delivery and operational perspective. The Forum provides an important mechanism for the promotion and development of partnership, which underpins the approach of the Agency. The Consultative Forum will comprise representatives of voluntary and statutory providers of services to people who are homeless in the Dublin area. Members of the Consultative Forum will have management responsibility for services to homeless people. This will ensure that the people devising and monitoring the plan are in touch with its actual impact on services and practices.
Role of the Consultative Forum
- The Forum will review progress reports in relation to the Implementation of A key to the door and report on same to the Board through the Independent Chair
- The Forum will actively support and provide guidance to the Board (and Agency) in relation to implementing agreed actions in a solution-focused manner (thus taking a thematic think tank approach in respect of its work and deliberations)
- The Forum will ensure that emerging concerns in respect of homelessness are raised and addressed to the Board.
- The Forum will advise the Board on matters of policy to enable it to use its influence effectively to achieve the Vision of A key to the Door and relevant National policies
- The role and function of the Consultative Forum will be kept in review and may be subject to change in the context of the development of local homeless forums across Dublin.
