Providing Support and Services to the Dublin Joint Homelessness Consultative Forum and Statutory Management Group

Core Actions

The actions below are the agreed core actions which will be implemented over the lifetime of this Homeless Action Plan. These actions follow on from the original statutory framework action plan as adopted by the Elected Members of the respective Dublin local Authorities in 2010.

 It is important to realise how these actions are both mutually supportive and interdependent, and how as such they will combine to contribute to the achievement of more than one of the five strategic aims set out above.

A total of eight core actions are agreed as follows:

1.       Consolidate and invest in the Pathway to Home model services in Dublin;[1]

2.       Provide access to quality, affordable housing for persons experiencing homelessness;

3.       Ensure access to mainstream public services for people experiencing homelessness

4.       In order to prevent homelessness from occurring, there will be increased emphasis on broadening and deepening integrated working between housing, homeless and all relevant public and NGO services;

5.       Localise Pathway to Home services across the Dublin region;

6.       Develop and adopt quality standards for all Pathway to Home services;

7.       Improve the financial governance of Pathway to Home services;

8.       Develop and implement a research and information plan in addition to a communication and awareness programme.
