Masters in Co-operative and Social Enterprise
17/06/2010
University College Cork (www.ucc.ie/ccs) have developed an on-line Masters in Co-operative & Social Enterprise which may be of interest to you. As the course is delivered on-line, it is possible to study for it from the comfort of your own home and thus does not involve heading out to classes on cold winter’s nights.
The programme is aimed at those who work or volunteer in the community and voluntary sector. A second-class honours degree qualification is required for entry to the programme. However, if you do not meet these requirements, it is possible to do a bridging course before starting on the MBS.
This Masters does not involve any written exams and is based on written assignments, on-line discussion forums and a minor research thesis. The programme covers areas such as social entrepreneurship, governance, education and marketing for the community and voluntary sector and the role of social enterprises in local and international development.
On completion, students are conferred with a Masters Degree from the School of Business and Law at University College Cork. The programme also allows for progression to PhD level. The next intake of students for the MBS is in October, 2010. If you would like further details, please contact Ms. Noreen Byrne on 021 4903356 or n.byrne@ucc.ie.
