Volunteers Needed for Winter Count on Rough Sleeping in Dublin on November 13th 2012

12/10/2012

The Winter 2012 Count on the number of persons sleeping rough in Dublin will take place on Tuesday night November 13th into the early morning of Wednesday November 14th 2012.

The Count takes place from 1am to 5am across the five functional areas of the Dublin City Council Administrative Area. All participants would need to arrive in advance  at 11.30pm for briefing session and coordination of street count areas.

The count provides a robust measure of the minimum number of people sleeping rough on the night of the count and ensures that homeless services can plan effectively in terms of service provision for people who are rough sleeping.

It also enables further engagement with the Regional Contact and Outreach Service (RCOS) to ensure that people can be supported in accessing homeless services in the Dublin area.

Without your cooperation and assistance, this very important Count would not be able to proceed.

The meeting point for briefing session will be Parkgate Hall, 6-9 Conyngham Road, Dublin 8.
The Dublin Region Homeless Executive has continued to carry out Counts on the level of rough sleeping in Dublin in Spring and Winter of each year since 2007.
